How Grubhub fees work

Grubhub separates marketing commission (5–20% by plan) from a 10% delivery fee that only applies when Grubhub’s drivers handle the order. Self-deliver and you pay just the marketing rate. Both come off the order before your food and labor costs.

payout = order × (1 − marketing − delivery)

Standard 2026 US package rates; promos/ads add cost. Not financial advice.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Grubhub charge restaurants?

Grubhub splits its fees: a marketing commission of 5% (Basic), 15% (Plus), or 20% (All-access), plus a separate 10% delivery fee if Grubhub’s drivers deliver the order. So a full-service Plus order can run about 25%.

Can I use my own drivers with Grubhub?

Yes. If you self-deliver you pay only the marketing commission and skip the 10% delivery fee. Uncheck the delivery option above to see that payout.

What is my payout on a Grubhub order?

The order subtotal minus the marketing commission and any delivery fee. On a $40 order at 15% + 10% delivery, Grubhub keeps $10 and you receive $30 before your own costs.

Are these current rates?

These are Grubhub’s standard 2026 US package rates. Promotions and sponsored listings add to the effective cost. Confirm in Grubhub for Restaurants.
